As Warehouse Manager (Mechanical Manufacturing), your day-to-day responsibilities will centre on optimising the entire warehousing function within a dynamic manufacturing setting. You will coordinate the movement of materials from receipt through storage to dispatch while maintaining rigorous inventory controls. Your role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between warehouse activities and production schedules.

  • Oversee comprehensive warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.
  • Manage inventory control for raw materials, child parts, work-in-progress items, and finished goods with meticulous attention to accuracy and traceability.
  • Lead warehouse layout planning and implement process improvements that enhance material flow, safety standards, and optimal space utilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Quality teams to align warehouse activities with manufacturing schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Implement regular cycle counts, stock audits, and corrective actions to address discrepancies and maintain high inventory integrity.
  • Supervise, train, nurture, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve operational targets while promoting a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as safety standards and applicable ISO or regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare detailed operational reports including KPIs and inventory metrics for management review to support informed decision-making.
  • Support and actively participate in warehouse automation projects and digitalisation initiatives aimed at modernising operations.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years of experience managing warehouse or logistics operations within a manufacturing or mechanical engineering environment is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead warehouse teams effectively while overseeing daily operational tasks in both heavy manufacturing and clean assembly settings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory control principles including BOM structures as well as work-in-progress and finished goods management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems alongside Warehouse Management Systems is required for efficient data handling and process integration.
  • Experience working across diverse environments such as metal stamping or injection moulding facilities combined with clean assembly lines is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lean warehousing methodologies including 5S practices and continuous improvement strategies will set you apart.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills are vital for collaborating across departments and motivating your team members.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities coupled with strong leadership qualities enable you to respond sensitively to challenges while supporting others.
  • Commitment to compliance with internal policies as well as ISO or regulatory requirements ensures safe operations throughout the facility.
