HR Manager (Manufacturing, JB)

Our client is a leading global manufacturing company headquartered in Singapore, serving a wide range of industries. With multiple manufacturing facilities in Johor Bahru (JB) and continued expansion plans, the company offers a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

They are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to lead HR operations across multiple manufacturing plants in Johor Bahru (JB). This role will oversee a workforce of 300+ employees and manage a small HR team, while partnering closely with local and regional leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Manage full-cycle recruitment and manpower planning
• Support business expansion and hiring ramp-up

2) Employee Relations & Engagement

• Foster positive employee relations and workplace culture
• Handle employee issues, grievances, and conflict resolution

3) Performance Management & Development

• Implement and drive performance management processes
• Coach managers and support talent development and succession planning

4) Compensation & Benefits

• Oversee salary benchmarking and benefits programs
• Ensure competitive and compliant compensation practices

5) Compliance & HR Policies

• Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws and regulations
• Maintain and enforce HR policies and procedures

6) Training & Organizational Development

• Drive training initiatives and leadership development
• Support change management and organizational growth

7) HR Operations & Reporting

• Oversee HR systems, payroll coordination, and reporting
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR data

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• 8+ years of HR generalist experience, including managerial experience in a manufacturing / plant environment
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and hands-on experience across core HR functions (TA, ER, C&B, performance management)
• Proven ability to lead a small HR team and partner effectively with senior stakeholders
• Hands-on, adaptable, and experienced in managing blue-collar workforce and hiring ramp-ups
